Many vehicles built since 1995 have ignition locks
that often require service. If your ignition key is
sticking or hard to turn, the lock may need to be
serviced. This can involve simply cleaning the lock,
or replacing the lock assembly with a new one.
Most vehicle models use the same key for all locks.
When an automotive lock needs replacing
it's best to use an "UNCODED" lock.
This means the replacement lock comes in a
service kit and can be assembled or
"coded" to match your existing key.
This eliminates having a different key for each lock.
Or, with models using an immobilizer system,
having to reprogram the transponder keys.
Some models that are especially prone to failure are:
Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep 1996 and newer
Ford Focus and Escape 2000-2007
General Motors and Saturn 1995 and newer
Toyota, Nissan, and Honda
We install replacement lock service kits.
The power door lock solenoids on many
Ford and Chrysler vehicles have a high failure rate.
This is the electrical motor inside each door cavity
that moves the lock linkage when power is applied
by either pressing the switch or remote buttons.
The symptoms will be weak movement of the lock.
or a slipping sound when the door lock is operated.
We install replacement door lock solenoids.
We also provide lock service kits and solenoids
for DIY installation and Automotive Repair Shops
